10th Anniversary of The Sandpiper Trust

Vehicle Extrication DemonstrationThis event was held at Blair Drummond Safari Park by kind permission of Jamie Muir (seen here being extricated by a Basics Team) on 29th September 2011.

The purpose of the day was to showcase the work the trust do in partnership with BASICS Scotland. We invited donors and supporters of the Trust to attend an afternoon event  where BASICS doctors and paramedics  demonstrated  how the Sandpiper Trust  contributes to immediate care in Scotland.  There were also information stations  explaining about the work of  Basics and how this organising delivers courses all over Rural Scotland.

A further one hundred guests attended an evening function where the Basics crew demontrated their skills by extricating  Jamie Muir from a crashed car.

The whole day was considered a great success, particularly in demontrating this invaluable partnership between The Sandpiper Trust and Basics Scotland and we hope to be able to host a few more similar events in the future.
