Aberdeen’s Emergency Care Centre opened its door on the 4th December to patients and is now fully operational. The Centre receives all medical and surgical emergency admissions along with NHS 24 patients in need of treatment Out of hours.
Every bed is surrounded by bright and imaginative curtains featuring landmarks of Grampian, which have been designed by The Sandpiper Trust with the help of very talented local Curious Cranberry artist Lynne Strachan.
The curtains have added character to the building and as a result, the clinical/patient feedback we have received has been hugely positive for The Sandpiper Trust. Every patient in the hospital also has their own notice message board resplendent with Sandpiper Trust magnets for attaching photographs, etc. It is all about spreading the word!
The main foyer to the hospital will be constructed over the next few months and Sandpiper is very involved with the design of the entrance.
We look forward to the official opening which is due to take place later this year.
