For the last three years, The Lanrick Challenge and Ride the North have been important fixtures in our annual fundraising calendar, both raising a significant amount for our charity.
Both events will run again this year, so if you’re up for a fun challenge then one of these may be for you.
The Lanrick Challenge
With support from the Royal Marines from 45 Commando, an exhilarating 6km and 12km course has been built on
Lanrick Estate offering an exciting yet punishing series of 48 obstacles including mud ponds, log piles, cargo nets, river crossings, tree climbs, monkey bars and a 30 meter water slide. Designed to include as much of the natural landscape as possible, the undulating terrain and natural beauty of the estate makes this event different to others.
Although challenging it’s not as extreme or frightening as the Tough Mudder – there’s no electrocutions or ice baths!!
The Lanrick Challenge is all about challenging yourself without being terrified – you will get a bit muddy, wet and tired but we also hope you have a laugh and lots of fun with your friends and colleagues – whilst fundraising for two amazing Scottish Charities – The Sandpiper Trust and Scottish Air Ambulance.
Corporate groups, family teams or individuals welcome. Entry is £35pp. Visit www.lanrickchallenge.com for further information and to book your place.
Ride the North
No matter your experience, you’ll be welcome on this annual 2-day event which sees riders cycle between Castle Fraser and Elgin/Forres then back again. Those who have taken on the challenge previously will testify to the camaraderie and atmosphere – It’s definitely not a race, more of an experience!
We are delighted that yet again, Sandpiper is an official charity partner for this event which means that we have a fixed number of places available for our fundraisers.
This is a supported ride, with mechanical support, support vehicles, signposting, lunches, mobile coffee stops, refreshments, luggage transfer and of course all the encouragement you will need. All this, along with an event cycling jersey is included in the fee of £135
